Swarovski 'Amazing' Sunglasses

Okay I don't really have much to say about Jennifer Lopez but these sunglasses worn in her latest video are gorgeous.

They are the 'Amazing' sunglasses (what a name) by Swarovski and I really like the moulded frames. Sunglasses started to get too pretty and delicate a few seasons back with too many diamantés and fine details so it's nice to see that angular, more sturdy designs are coming back.

                                            BOURJOIS BLOWS OUT ITS CANDLES!

On Sunday May 12th I was invited to an event celebrating 150 years of Bourjois which held at the amazing Bambah Boutique on Jumeirah 1.

Unfortunately at the last minute I had to cancel but I asked the PRs to send me over some photos from the night.  Here's a little selection of what went on!

It was a full house!

Attendees had a chance to get their nails done,

and check out the new Summer on the Riviera collection,

as well as the little pots of Bourjois gorgeousness,

Here are some of the attendees, starting with my girl Aseya! How stunning does she look?!

Mac Pigments Collection - Neutrals

Okay, okay it's hardly an Imelda Marcos level collection but what the heck, here's what I have,

From Left to Right we have:
Naked, Chocolate, Cocomotion, Bloodlines and 3D Gold (which is actually a glitter, you got me)

I haven't been able to swatch these in a good light yet so apologies that the image below isn't as clear as it could be.

Top:Naked, Chocolate
Bottom: 3D Gold, Cocomotion, Bloodlines

I don't get as much use out of these anymore and it's because I feel that pigments can be really messy to use. They aren't practical if you're travelling and one small knock and they go everywhere! I used to have the patience to keep going with them because the pigmentation over a primer is truly awesome but now I just get frustrated. So, at some point I will hopefully attempt to do the famous 'pigment to pressed powder' transformation. I'll wait until I'm back in the UK because I know I already have an empty MAC palette and spare pans in my bedroom. Plus there will be ample baby sitters to keep the toddler busy so there's more time for me to concentrate on this fiddly task.

Do you have any neutral pigments? Which are your favourites?

17 Mirror Shine Lipsticks

From Left to Right we have Belle, Beehive, Nudist Peach and Hollywood. These have been available for a long time now but they are still some of my favourite products to use. As you can see one has received a little less love than the others!

The formulation is super sheer and these strike me as being more like glossy lip balms with anything else.

The colour pay off is minimal but they are just so soft and easy to wear and are rather perfect for everyday use. Belle is considered a 'my lips but better' shade by a multitude of bloggers and Beehive is the goto sheer nude for many others. Whether it's work, college or doing a nursery run, it's hard to go wrong with these.

Do you own any of the Mirror Shines?

Current favourite sunscreen

About a year ago the lovely Jamila Camel (follow her on twitter!) came to stay with me and gave me Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock in SPF 100.

I was really impressed with it's staying power and by the fact it didn't leave my oily skin feeling greasy. When it finished I went to repurchase but ended up buying SPF 55 as I spend less time in the sun at present (Abu Dhabi is getting hot, I mean HOT and at some points in the day the best sun protection is simply to avoid it!)

I don't love the smell and it probably takes a minute before you reach the 'dry touch' stage but this is a great oil and PABA free sunblock. So far this hasn't caused any noticeable excess oil, it hasn't led to break outs and incidentally it makes a great primer if you feel the need for foundation (which I don't bother with if I've got sunblock on but different folks, different strokes etc)

It's very affordable and apart from being non-comodogenic (it won't block pores) it is also waterproof and sweat proof (gross!)

I know the warm weather is only just arriving in the UK but you can never prepare too much for hot, sunny weather so remember this product when you stock up on sunblock :)

Channeling Celine's Luggage Tote

Celine's Luggage totes were everywhere last year. Every socialite and fashionista (hate this word!) had at least one and it became the arm candy of choice for many a fashion blogger. It's easy to see why. The luggage tote comes in several sizes and colours and has a great silhouette which for a while, was fairly unique to it. Now many bags are being released with a very similar silhouette (and of course some have the very similar price tag!)
Here are a few I've noticed which definitely have a design detail similar to the Celine piece, I am of course referring to the trapezium shape. All images are courtesy of selfridges.com

Marc by Marc Jacobs Flipping Out Satchel

Marc Jacobs Columbus Bentley Tote,

Joseph Two Toned Leather Tote

Chloe Alison East West Mini Tote

Lanvin Moon River Mock Croc Tote

and my favourite,
the 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli Satchel

Are you a fan of the Celine Luggage tote? Do you like any of these?

Bourjois Nail Art How to's

These beautiful little guides popped up in my inbox today! How cute are these designs?

My favourites are Their Smocking and Chic & Graphic. These two I want to attempt at home. Braids I think is probably a bit too complicated for me, I will just make a mess ha ha!
